Frequently Asked Questions
-
A medical pedicure is a professional foot care treatment performed by a podiatrist or trained medical provider. Unlike a spa pedicure, it focuses on the health and hygiene of your feet — addressing issues like calluses, corns, thickened nails, ingrown nails, and fungal concerns, all in a sterile, clinical environment.
-
Salon pedicures are cosmetic and often performed with non-sterile tools, which can increase the risk of infection. Medical pedicures use hospital-grade (autoclave)sterilization, single-use deposable instruments/supplies when necessary, and medical-grade products. The focus is not only on appearance but also on preventive measure ensuring safety and sanitation as priority. We focus on the health of the foot.
-
The ideal frequency depends on your foot health, conditions, and lifestyle. Every, every 4–6weeks is a good interval. But for those with ongoing concerns (e.g. diabetes, thickened, fungal nails), more frequent visits may be recommended.
-
Unfortunately, Medical pedicures are considered preventive or cosmetic and are not covered by insurance. However, we are working to accept more payment options to better fit your need.

As a former athlete, my feet have taken a beating over the years. I’ve tried everything from massages to expensive foot treatments, but nothing compares to the experience at Sol Refinery. The attention to detail, medical insight, and precision care blew me away. My calluses are reduced, my feet feel renewed, and I finally have a routine to keep them that way. Highly recommend to anyone serious about foot health.
